Being allowed to create my own music elective class in high school.

My “why” for being in public education:

After decades in the service industry, it was appealing to work in a field where I could hope to have a genuinely positive impact on my community. 

What I do to unwind and recharge:

I play music, make art, cook, spend time with my family at home or in nature, and work on a list of house projects that never end.
